[News] Jensen to reign as King of Bacchus this Mardi Gras

[News] Jensen to reign as King of Bacchus this Mardi Gras

Some fun and exciting news was shared today; Jensen has been chosen to reigh as King of Bacchus for Mardis Gras 2019 on Sunday, March 3.  For those that are unsure of what that means many outlets have been sharing a quick history of what it means to be King;

Ackles continues a tradition started in 1969, when Bacchus introduced Danny Kaye as its first celebrity monarch. Since then, a legion of stars have held the annual honor, from Bob Hope to Kirk Douglas and from Will Ferrell to last year’s Bacchus, J.K. Simmons.

The 1,600-member Krewe of Bacchus will, as has become tradition, hit the streets of New Orleans on the Sunday night before Mardi Gras. The parade will be broadcast locally on WWL-Ch. 4 and it will be followed by the annual Bacchus Rendezvous party at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

We look forward to seeing Jensen all dressed up and looking as regal and majestic and we are sure he will have an amazing time celebrating in New Orleans.

Update: Jensen took to twitter to thank fans!

Here are some tweets congratulating the King!

In a few weeks fan’s will be treated to the milestone 300th episode of Supernatural; an episode which is sure to make fans laugh and cry alike, in no small part due to the amazing reunion (after 12 seasons!) of John Winchester and his family! To celebrate Entertainment Weekly had a photoshoot and went behind the scenes of the show and we have some gorgeous shots from their special edition covers! We have added 7HQ images to the gallery.

Standing in his little brother’s college apartment, Dean Winchester first uttered those words in the pilot, and in doing so, launched Supernatural’s — and the brothers’ —  first big mystery. “I had a good feeling about the show just reading the pilot,” Ackles says. “It had grit, the characters were well-written, and the story had miles to go.” Although he couldn’t quite predict how many miles the journey would be.

Be sure to head over to the EW site to read all about the episode and take a look behind the scenes – screencaps from the videos and interviews will be added to the site shortly!

[Casting] Batman: The Long Halloween

[Casting] Batman: The Long Halloween

Exciting news for fans of the DC/Batman universe, as Jensen is rumored to be taking on a new role in the a new project, Batman: The Long Halloween. A synopsis for the story can be found below;

“Christmas. St. Patrick’s Day. Easter. As the calendar’s days stack up, so do the bodies littered in the streets of Gotham City. A murderer is loose, killing only on holidays. The only man that can stop this fiend? The Dark Knight. In a mystery taking place during Batman’s early days of crime fighting, Batman: The Long Halloween is one of the greatest Dark Knight stories ever told.

Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month. A mystery that has the reader continually guessing the identity of the killer, this story also ties into the events that transform Harvey Dent into Batman’s deadly enemy, Two-Face.”

This exciting news was first shared by Revenge of the Fans who have shared similar casting news in the past – while they are able to share news of the voice cast the character’s they voicing is not able to be shared – although some educated guess have been made and some believe that Jensen could possibly be voicing Harvey Dent in these upcoming movies.

We hope we get some more official news and confirmation on this project soon but for now I am sure I am not alone in saying that this sounds like a very interesting and exciting project!
